Outreach = reaching out to our community!
Community outreach is a regular and important part of what we do here at Lafourche Parish Public Library! If you have ever seen us out and about in the community or if you have attended an event or workshop that we held outside of our library branches, you've taken part in our outreach efforts.
Outreach allows us to provide library services outside of our library buildings, engaging our community with library services and resources wherever they are. Senior centers, schools, daycares, local businesses, and community events are just some of the places where we reach out!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Community outreach is designed to build community relations and meet our patrons where they are.

You will often find us out and about in the community reaching out at local fairs and festivals, senior centers and nursing homes, community events, parades, trunk-or-treats, and more!

Library staff members register new patrons for library cards, share information about library programs, services, and resources, give out library swag, and host programming at outreach events.

We also offer free Homebound Delivery Services to Lafourche Parish residents who are physically unable to visit out library branches due to medical or mobility issues. Learn more here.
SCHOOL OUTREACH

School outreach is intended to promote literacy to local schools, daycares, nurseries, and Head Starts.

You will often find us visiting classrooms, engaging kids in lively story times and educational activities!

Library staff members also deliver books and other educational resources to classrooms to enrich the school curriculum as part of our outreach efforts.
