Do you have things that need doing? We can help!
Did you know that all of our branches have a Book-a-Librarian service?

We can help with a myriad of tasks! The most common appointments patrons make are computer-related such as making a resume, setting up email and installing apps on phones and tablets. However, we offer so much more!
Don’t know what to read next? Most librarians are readers themselves. It’s an occupational hazard of the best kind! We can use books and authors that you already love to help you find your next favorite read with the read-a-likes feature on our resource, NoveList Plus!
NoveList Plus is also great for those in reading groups or books clubs since it includes loads of special features like summaries, series orders for titles, and book discussion guides.
Speaking of online resources, our Book-a-Librarian service can help you learn to use any of our many varied resources such as Hoopla, CloudLibrary, ComicsPlus and (the newest addition to our resource family) Libby! Through these, you can have access to eBooks, manga, audiobooks, movies, and more!

And, yes, there are apps for that (and more) that are free to use with your library card.
You can also potentially Book-a-Librarian for:
· Genealogical Research (P.S. We have in-house Ancestry.com available for use!)
· Learning how to navigate different social media sites.
· Learning new skills.
· Assistance with research projects.
We know that working with unfamiliar resources and technologies can be a daunting task. Often, it can be difficult to even know where to begin. Your local LPPL workers would like to help make learning easier and less stressful!
If you’re interested in this service, call your local branch and we’ll set up an appointment with a time that works for you! Learn more here: https://www.lafourche.org/book-a-librarian - Brittany, Branch Associate
