A debut picture book from an acclaimed actress, singer and Disney Legend shows Princess Tiana on a never-before-seen New Orleans adventure, determined to make it the best Mardi Gras ever.
It’s Mardi Gras time in New Orleans and Tiana is getting ready to host her in-laws in this unique new edition to the Princess and the Frog universe.
Anika Rose, the voice of Tiana from the movie, has written Tiana’s Perfect Plan, a colorful picture book that is sure to delight fans of the movie. Anika does a great job of capturing beloved elements from the movie as well as throwing in some beloved New Orleans elements and phrases. The best of these is a cameo (in illustration) of departed Leah Chase, the famous New Orleans chef who whose life the story of Tiana is based on. My only issue with the NOLA references is calling the street cars a cable car, but that may be just a personal ick. Aside from this the story could have been a little better, but the illustrations were perfection.
Olivia Duchess’ illustrations are vibrant, detailed and a wonderful homage to the city and movie we have fallen in love with. Any fan of the movie or NOLA will love this book. - Heather, Branch Manager
