Summer Experience 2023 is here!
Come into the Lafourche Parish Public Library and join in the fun and excitement. Pick up your participation logs when you register at your favorite library, and keep track of your reading for the summer. To be eligible for the grand prize drawing, simply log at least 20 minutes of reading for at least 30 days from May 30-July 31, and attend a Library event in June and in July. Be sure to stop in at the library after each 5 days logged and receive a prize. We have so many new books coming to the library every week, as well as undiscovered treasures already on the shelves. There are live performances, art workshops, and wonderful Story Times.
“Invincible” performed by Roger Day kicks off the Summer Experience on Monday, June 12th (10:00 am at the Cut Off Youth Center, and 2:00 pm at the Warren J. Harang Auditorium). Use your imagination to figure out the answers to the problems facing young superheroes.
If you like laughter, magic and circus acts, come to The Crescent Circus performance on June 27th (10:00 am at the Cut Off Youth Center, and 1:30 pm at the Warren J. Harang Auditorium), and June 28th (10:00 am at the Lafourche Central Market).
Story Times are available at all the branches, scheduled throughout the week at different times, with some geared especially to infants and toddlers. There are STEAM Sit-Down activities, Exercise and Yoga classes, Line Dancing, Bingo, Wii Tournaments, Computer classes, Escape Room experiences, Sewing Workshops, and even Snack crafts. Check out the Kids Café where kids can eat a meal for free. Learn how to code by using Code Combat software. Join the LSU Ag Center as they present “Eat a Rainbow with LSU AG.”
There are so many opportunities for you at the Lafourche Parish Library. Some activities require registration, so reserve your space. Check out our calendar of events and make your plans to enrich your summer with Reading Colors Your World Summer Experience. Hope to see you soon!
