Katie's Pick: The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook by Ashley Craft

Experience the magic of the Disney Parks right in your kitchen with these 100, easy and delicious recipes inspired by Walt Disney World!

With the cost of living skyrocketing, extra vacation trips are no longer an option for many people. Thankfully, Ashley Craft has penned The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook, a cookbook full of Disney inspired recipes. Ashley helps you bring the magic home with easy to follow recipes and detailed cooking instructions. The book is broken down into two parts, with part 1 being an introduction to Disney parks cooking and essential tools needed to create the recipes. Part 2 is the recipes. Each chapter in part 2 is broken down by park. Also included with each chapter is a park map, should you get the chance to visit Disney World or Disneyland and try the original dish that inspired the recipes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cookbook. Some of my favorite memories growing up include trying all the yummy things Disney parks have to offer. The best recipes that I tried were the iconic Dole Whip from Adventureland and The Grey Stuff from Fantasyland. This book is great for the avid Disney fan. Ashley Craft really helps bring the magic home with each decedent dish. I also like how the author included a little history and fun facts, which made reading the recipes fun and provided some insight into the creation of the original recipe. The only thing missing from this cookbook is pictures. There are some pictures throughout the book, but not every recipe is accompanied by a photo. This can be easily remedied by going online to search for the original dish that inspired the recipes without photos. - Katie, Reference Librarian
